In conjunction with local fire departments, the Red Cross has rolled out a Home Fire Preparedness Campaign. The premise of the program is that the more people know about home fire preparedness, the safer they will be. The campaign has two components – installing fire alarms and designing fire escape plans for residents.
Under the guidance of the Red Cross Rainier Chapter and a member of the Tumwater Fire Department, we went around a week before the install and hung door knockers and spoke with residents of a mobile home park in Tumwater.
